Question:

“What should I eat right after a workout?”

Answer:

Well, immediately after a workout, the best snack to eat is one consisting primarily of simple carbs.

You have something called the “fuel window” – 45 minutes immediately following a workout.
Make sure you take advantage of this window, as this is the best time for you to consume high-quality food. If you utilize this time wisely, you will reward your muscles with speeding up the recovery process. That’s due to a better absorption of the carbohydrates in the food itself.
To speed recovery, the body needs simple carbohydrate to enter the bloodstream—the quicker the better. This means that the post-exercise the snack should contain very little fat (even the good kind). Best way to ensure you get the right nutrients in as fast as possible? Make your own Recovery Drink!

And that’s why today we are sharing with you a recipe from the THRIVE-the vegan nutrition guide to optimal performance in sports and life.

This homemade concoction is easy to make and much healthier than commercial versions.
